Lebronzica: The Saga Continue's

We all want what we want.
What I want is probably not what you want
What Lebron James wants, its pretty safe to say, is unclear to every single basketball fan, journalist, school teacher, entourage member, and perhaps most mysterious of all; Lebron James. He speaks on "Lebron James" like a superheroic alter-ego. King James and Lebron Kent.

I wonder if Delonte West could've banged Lois Lane

better than kryptonite.

So to say...What you and I want is either one of two things.
1. not in the same fucking continent as what the King wants.
or
2. it is exactly what Lebron would want

So to say...The only way this whole situation makes any sense to the average fuck is if we ask ourselves what we would do if we had millions of dollars and a bunch of friends on the free agent market. Wouldn't you want to play with two of your closest friends for the prime of your career? Isn't that what we dream about as kids? We ask our athletes to act like CEOs and little boys all at the same time. Lebron James comes as close as anyone has. So why are we so mad? How has our hero fallen so hard by popular opinion? Easy. The Decision. the one hour primetime unveiling of, well, nothing until The Bigger 3 start playing basketball sometime in late October. This is blatant evidence, to the average basketball fan, that Lebron does not think like us. No, none of us would be dumb enough to pull that egotistical bullshit. nah, never. Ever.
So now we don't understand what Lebron wants. And we Fear what we don't understand. So...

Lebron is our villain.

This shit is big. Real big. Like, what if TheRock had accidentally killed Trish Stratus on Smackdown! David Stern is Vince McMahon. Lebron is the former fan-favorite fallen from grace. Lebron will receive death threats coming back to Cleveland. Paul Pierce got stabbed in Boston and he plays here. Try telling me there isn't a Lee Harvey Oswald somewhere in Northern Ohio ready to go postal. Jordan played in the 3rd largest city in America. When he left (retired, retired again) the city didn't reeeaally need him economically. Cleveland needs Lebron...needed Lebron. This is deeper than sport for Cleveland. This is like if instead of going bankrupt GM was flourishing and then decided to leave Detroit for Southern California in a One hour special on CNN...

General Motors has decided in the fall it will take its talents to the Hollywood Hills.

Eminem would have a field day.

This is a recurring nightmare. Less than 20 years ago the Baltimore Ravens played in Cleveland. Baltimore has seen 2 Superbowls. Even won one. Cleveland hasn't had a title in over 50 years. My father hasn't lived for a championship season in Cleveland. Lebron didn't deliver, and then abandoned ship. Understandable, but not for those sad souls who live in Ohio. When Art Modell moved the Browns there was an understanding that he was no longer welcome in the city of Cleveland. There can be no such understanding with Lebron. He must return.

For the first time in my life i WILL be buying an NBA season package. That must mean something right? Kobe was the evolutionary Jordan, except as Kobe fades into his 30s its becoming clear that Jordan was better. No matter how many titles Kobe wins, Jordan never lost in the finals. Jordan was better. Hands down.

Lebron James is an evolutionary Magic Johnson.

And hes only 25. Lebron is a traitor i guess. So is Kevin Garnett, and Chris Paul. We value loyalty as fans but there is no selflessness between players and owners. 7 years into Michael Jordan's career he had no titles. Sure, he handled everything better than Lebron has. But so did his front office. They hired Phil Jackson, then signed Scottie Pippen to a long term contract. Cleveland failed as an organization bringing in a championship caliber cast. Mo Williams and Mike Brown is close as the Cavs came to Pips and the Zen Master. Fail.

I haven't been this excited about the NBA since i saw Ron Artest go Waterboy in detroit.

Isn't this a better reason? So say what you want about Lebron Favre, I'm tired of the saga too but your lying if come halloween your not in front of somebody's flat screen watching the carnival in South Beach. This is must see TV. Undeniably. Your excited too, don't lie, and if your not then I'm afraid there's something wrong with your medulla oblongata. Just don't tell RonRon

Lebron James will be a Boston Celtic?

It Could Happen

I know, ok? I know, it wreaks of conspiracy theory. like GrownUps wreaks of box office flop. I know this because despite the millions of dollars they've spent plugging the movie in EVERY NBA PLAYOFF GAME....Nobody is talking about it. I'm a waiter, my entire day is water cooler banter. Not one word about Grown Ups, good luck boys. You are so far off peoples radar i hesitated to even use the analogy. maybe nobody will get it, and my blog will flop, just like you. but i decided to keep it because just like Grown Ups nobody is talking about Lebrons future in green.

It Could Happen

Nobody! not even Bill Simmons: Conspiracy Super-Theorist. The guy is the fuckin king of conspiracy theories and not a peep. It makes too much sense to completely ignore, I guess thats how they start.
But this isnt a conspiracy theory, despite all the classic tricks that it plays with you, it cant be. This is what is so phenomenal about Lebron James is he makes us think about his future like it's in the past. perhaps it's a product of an era but since Lebron exploded onto the national spotlight in his junior year of high school we have thought of his every move in terms of his legacy.
With Magic and Bird We fell in love with the game, we made it a priority to pay attention, Basketball became our #1 chick, threatening baseball as the national pastime. Our next superstar transcended our feelings. Michael Jordans love for basketball was psychotic, he had a clause in his contract termed "love of the game clause". The only one ever, if you were curious. He dominated, to such a level when he left, we collectively hated the NBA. Who was our next superstar? Kobe is complicated. No face of a sport has treated everything around him with arrogant contempt quite the way Kobe does. We always were reminded of Jordan. alpha dog shooting guard, 3peats, coached by Phil Jackson. I think its fair to say in the big NBA family tree Kobe is Mjs little brother. Kobe never escaped Jordans legacy and he seems to feel it, and play in terms of his legacy. Kobes obsession with what other people think gives us our next superduperstar; Lebron James and the phenomenon of WHAT WILL HE DO?!?! It seems like this decision will tell us so much about who he is....

It Could Happen

Conspiracy Theories revolve around mystery. more commonly mystery in significant past events. For the record I dont think Castro killed Kennedy. I think Biggies definitely dead but Pac? he might still be thuggin somewhere on the globe. I'm saying Delonte West probably didnt bang Lebrons mom but its fuckin fun to think about, thats why conspiracy theories thrive. But that is whats perplexing about this situation. Cospiracy theories live off one fairly basic idea:

It Could Have Happened.... odd that nobody has brought up something so possible....yet

#1. IS IT BETTER TO BURN OUT OR TO FADE AWAY
Kevin Garnett is old, his knees hurt, clearly. He's a high post player only at this stage in his career. He may decide to walk away if he wins this championship. After all, he doesnt seem like the type of player to keep playing when he knows he cant give his all anymore, especially when 40 million of the celtics salary, almost 3/5 of the salary cap, is wrapped up in himself and Paul Pierce, giving the Celtics little to no chance at competing going forward. A championship this years would give Garnett and this version of the Celtics the very attractive option of walking away on top. If Garnett Retires, the Celtics suddenly have almost 20 million to work with in the next 2 seasons. Clearly enough to find room for Lebron....i know, interesting but not enough to convince you.

#2. WHEN A FRIEND TELLS YOU A THING YOU LISTEN
KG gushes about the Celtics organization, His fondness for the History and Lore in Boston is no secret. Neither is his close friendship with Bill Russell, or his interest in acting as a mentor. Interestingly he chose to tell the national media all this after the Celtics eliminated the Cavs this spring in what may have been Lebrons last game with Cleveland. "I told him; If I had known what I know now about this organization I may not have made the same decisions" A paraphrase of KGs comments about his loyalty to Minnesota and maybe perhaps a small moment of recruitment?

#3 THE GRASS IS AWAYS GREENER: Possible Lebron destinations (other than Boston)
New York Knicks - why would Lebron go there. He's walking into a worse rebuilding situation than he's been in. He wants to win, but he also wants to be a Global Icon and no stage presents that quite like NYC.

New Jersey Nets - He's friends with Jay-z, who partially owns the Nets I really can't think of another reason. although a starting five of Lebron, Devin Harris, Brooke Lopez Courtney Lee and another free agent doesnt look so shabby. He could win there but the Nets have much to be desired as an organization.

LA Clippers - Will not happen with the current owner at the helm, although a cross city rivalry with Kobe seems pretty intriguing.

Chicago Bulls - best possible team (other than celtics) but why would you go play in Jordans shadow, for an organization that never won shit before MJ and hasnt won shit since. It would make more sense to stay in Cleveland where he already plays for a franchise that didnt win shit before he got there. He means more in Cleveland than he will mean anywhere else...except Boston

Why Lebron would choose Boston if it was a possibility???

Why wouldnt you come to Boston, you have a franchise with the pedigree of greatness and winning, with a vacant superstar savior position opening up. One that has already been broken in by Bill Russell and Larry Bird and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The waters warm, its easy to succeed in Boston, it is brutal to fail. All great players want to be in great habitats and to have great point guards. Rondo and Lebron is scary to think about isnt it?? Lets at least entertain this until its in the past. Welcome to Titletown King James, I'm a witness
